Potters Resort is set on the coastal borders of Norfolk and Suffolk in the village of Hopton-on-Sea. It’s the UK’s original permanent holiday village, and the first to be awarded 5-stars by Visit Britain. From the Norfolk Broads to the Great Yarmouth coastline, it’s surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty. Potters is famed for its world-class bowls facilities, and the resort plays host to the Indoor World Bowls Championships.

The holiday village has been providing luxury leisure breaks for guests of all ages for nearly a century now. And throughout this decades-long existence, Potters has made a point of continuously investing in facilities and other improvements. Most recently they refurbished a number of their hotel rooms, including the bathrooms.

Buildings and Development Manager Andrew Broom was searching for an accessible shower to make the rooms more inclusive for guests with mobility issues. He paid a visit to Plumb City, his nearest plumbing merchants, where he came across the Kinedo range of shower cubicles.

The Right Look and Feel

Andrew arranged for an onsite demonstration from the Saniflo technical team. He was impressed by just how quick and easy it was to install the Kinedo shower cubicles:

The cubicles certainly have the right ‘look and feel’ for the quality of rooms we have, so the trial was more about how simple the installation would be for our in-house team, and how much time an installation may disrupt room bookings.

 

In fact, once the team got hands-on experience of the fitting, they found it surprisingly quick and straightforward. We were pleasantly surprised that the units are watertight without silicone. This helps keep them looking pristine.

To date, six Kinedo shower cubicles have been installed at Potters Resort. They currently have two accessible Kinemagic models, with spacious walk-in areas, non-slip trays, fold-down seats and grab-rails for ease of use. They also have four Eden cubicles to provide a luxurious shower experience for guests in standard rooms.

All the cubicles are supplied with opaque internal glass panels, clear toughened safety glass for the external panels and doors,  and integrated trays, shower heads and valves. This makes them complete, self-contained packages – they can be installed with no need to source any separate elements.
