Unusual Conversions - St Clements Church

Categories : Case Studies , Shower Cubicles

Opening its doors overnight to homeless men, including refugees and asylum seekers, St Clements Church in Manchester works in conjunction with the Boaz Trust to support vulnerable individuals. Every night basic food and shelter is available to those who would otherwise sleep on the streets.

One element missing from the nightly care was the ability for the men to shower properly rather than just wash at a basin. A space in the accessible bathroom was identified as being sufficient for a shower and one of the parishioners, Steve Helmes, took the opportunity to get a recommendation from his plumber about a suitable solution. Fresh from installing a Kinedo in a customer’s home, the plumber highly recommended the Moonlight – an integrated cubicle that is quick to install and provides a watertight space without any need for tiles and grout or silicone.

Much to his surprise when Steve called the technical team at Saniflo he was delighted to learn that an ex-showroom unit was available and the company agreed to donate it to the church;

The team at Saniflo advised me on the correct size of unit for the space available and even organised a pre-Christmas delivery. We got the cubicle up and running quickly and it has made such a difference already. Our visitors know, after a day spent walking around Manchester in the cold or rain, that a hot shower awaits them before getting to sleep in a warm and safe environment
